As you grow older and face new experiences, what issue or topic do you think you'll have to stand up and debate most often, whether with friends, family, or society?

Reflection:  I learned how to argue something.

Write about a truth you were afraid to accept.

Prompt response:  A truth I was afraid to accept was that I wasn't good at a lot of things. Eventually, I accepted that I have weaknesses. Summary:  Today, we took more notes on arguments and claims. Reflection:  I learned about how to identify claims. This has allowed me to better identify claims and create opposing claims.

Write about a time when you were judged unfairly.

But, I do remember that it was presented in a unique way, that it was more of like a video rather than a poster. Summary:  Today, the class did presentations. Reflection:  I learned some unique poems created by my classmates. I might use the knowledge to help make an amazing poem.

Summary:  Today, we looked at and completed activities related to 15 vocabulary words. Reflection:  I learned some new vocabulary words. I might use the words that I learned sometime later in my speaking and writing.

You are currently working on a soundtrack for selected Emily Dickinson poems. With that in mind, if asked to choose a song to describe your life right now, which song would you select and why?

Prompt response:  I know a song I would use to describe myself. I would use "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" by Green Day. This is because of how my mind is. It's like being stuck in traffic, because of how cluttered my mind (and everything) is. Summary:  Today we worked on a soundtrack. Reflection:  I learned how to use songs that go along with the poems. I might use the knowledge to choose better songs the next time an activity like this is done.
